Cowboy Basketball Provides Preview

Junior and captain Markel Brown scored a game-high 10 points in a brief eight-minute scrimmage, but his Orange team fell to the Black squad 26-21 at the sixth-annual Homecoming & Hoops celebration inside Gallagher-Iba Arena on Friday night.
Brown also had four assists, matching sophomore Le'Bryan Nash's four dimes for the Black team. Nash led the squad with nine points as the Cowboys showed off their new Nike Hyper-Elite uniforms.
With only 10 players available for the scrimmage, Coach Travis Ford abbreviated the show in front of an estimated 10,000 students and alumni.
The Cowgirls also had an eight-minute scrimmage, with the Black team defeating the Orange squad 26-25 behind 14 points by senior Toni Young. Tiffany Bias had 10 for the Black team, while Liz Donohoe led the Orange team with 10.
