Cowgirls In Sixth Place at Windy City Collegiate

GOLF, Ill. - After a 36-hole day on Monday, the Oklahoma State women's golf team stands in a tie for sixth place at the Windy City Collegiate Championship at Glen View Club.
The defending champion Cowgirls posted a 16-over total of 592, which featured scores of 298 and 294, to finish the day tied with Northwestern. The two squads are two shots behind UC Davis for fifth place at the par-72, 6,333-yard layout. Washington leads the event by two strokes over Arizona after carding a 580 total.
A pair of players finished the day tied for first place with 141 tallies as UC Davis' Amy Simanton and Notre Dame's Lindsey Weaver each finished with 3-under totals.
OSU junior Josephine Janson followed an opening 75 with a 72 to post a 147 total and stand in a tie for 18th place.
Senior Kelsey Vines, the tournament's defending medalist, bounced back from a 77 during her first round with a 71 to finish tied for 21st place at 148.
Junior Jayde Panos opened with a 71 before posting a 78 to come in with a149 total and tied for 25th place, while sophomore Courtney Ferguson's scores of 75 and 77 tied her for 40th place at 152.
Senior Hillary Wood carded scores of 79 and 74 to wrap up the day tied for 46th place at 153.
The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. and will be grouped with Northwestern and UC Davis.
