Track Finishes KSU Invitational

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Oklahoma State track and field program finished up competition on Saturday at the KSU Invitational, hosted by Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan.
Athletes from the men's and women's squad competed at the event, which was the team's first since the holiday break.
The women finished the day with a 2-1 dual record, defeating Missouri-Kansas City by 19 points and Tulsa by 15.
The Cowgirls picked up 13 finishes in the top five, including a first-place performance by Kate Kujawa in the one mile run, completing the race in 5:04.55.
Mihaela Bobos picked up a second-place finish in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:27.05, which is the ninth-best time in OSU history. Jacy Steelman finished second in the 400 meter run, while Brooke Gritters placed second in the shot put.
Clara Telford's time of 9.05 in the 60 meter hurdles was good for fifth place in the race and fourth in the OSU all-time records. Bailey Johnson's time of 9.30 in the 60 meter hurdles was good for eighth in the race and eighth all-time at OSU. Caitlin Way's 16.43m effort in the shot put helped her finish fourth and is the fifth-best mark at OSU.
The Cowboys finished with an 0-3 dual record. They notched with six top-five finishers, including second-place finishes from Raul Botezan in the 1,000 meter run and Cody Kenny in the long jump. Botezan's time of 2:25.05 is the sixth-best time in OSU history.
The track and field teams return to action next weekend when they travel to Norman, Okla. to compete in the JD Martin Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 21.
