Cowgirl Tennis Set To Begin Fall Slate

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team begins its fall schedule Friday when it travels to Atlanta, Ga., to compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational.
The event, held Sept. 16-18, matches up the Cowgirls with talented squads from Georgia, Yale and host Georgia Tech. The teams combine to feature 10 singles players in the ITA preseason rankings, as well as four ranked doubles tandems.
The Cowgirls feature a relatively young roster, led by juniors C.C. Sardinha and Malika Rose. They will be joined at the tournament by sophomores Kanyapat Narattana and Leyla Simmons, as well as freshmen Mary Jeremiah and Meghan Blevins.
In addition to providing valuable experience to the Cowgirl tennis team, the Georgia Tech Invitational will also be good preparation for Narattana and Blevins, who will compete in the doubles qualifying at the 2011 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, which take place Oct. 1-9 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
