Cowgirls Head To Wyoming For WNIT
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (17-14) will travel to Laramie, Wyo., on Monday to take on the Wyoming Cowgirls (23-8) in the second round of the WNIT at 8 p.m. (CST) inside Arena Auditorium. The Cowgirls advanced with an 81-74 win over Pepperdine in Stillwater on Wednesday, while Wyoming advanced with a 79-44 home victory over Portland State. OSU will be looking to win two-straight WNIT games for just the second time in school history after going 2-1 in 2001.
Cowgirls vs. Cowgirls ... The Series
OSU and Wyoming have met on two previous occasions with OSU claiming both contests. OSU hosted Wyoming on Jan. 7, 1990 in the Cowgirl Classic and prevailed 79-59. The following season, OSU claimed a 77-66 win on Dec. 15 in Laramie.
Scouting Wyoming
Wyoming advanced to the second round of the WNIT with a 79-44 win over Portland State on Wednesday. The victory upped the Cowgirls' home mark to 13-3 on the year. As a team, Wyoming ranks fifth in the country in assist-to-turnover ratio, 10th nationally at 16.9 assists per game and 25th with its 7.1 3-point field goals per game. Aubrey Vandiver paces the squad with her 18.8 points per game, which ranks 22nd nationally.

The Cowgirls will be without the services of second-team All-Big 12 pick Toni Young, who was injured Friday while dunking during practice ... OSU's leading scorer and rebounder, Young was coming off a career-high 34-point outing against Pepperdine and currently leads the Big 12 with 14 double-doubles and 9.1 rebounds per game ...Vicky McIntyre has 65 blocks and is six away from tying the OSU single-season mark.
OSU In The WNIT
The Cowgirls are 5-3 all time in the WNIT after posting an 81-74 win over Pepperdine last Wednesday. The 2009 tournament saw OSU win its opening-round game against UT Arlington before falling in overtime at Arkansas. In 2001, the Cowgirls knocked off North Texas and UNLV before falling at Hawaii in the quarterfinal round. OSU's first appearance resulted in a second-round loss at Baylor.
