Game Information
Oklahoma State hosts Harvard in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament on Tuesday, March 15, at 6:30 pm inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The game will be televised by ESPN, with Mark Jones handling the play-by-play duties and Fran Fraschilla providing expert analysis. This will be the first-ever meeting between the Cowboys and Crimson on the hardwood. Oklahoma State is 4-1 all-time against members of the Ivy League.
About Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State is 19-13 overall this season and coming off a 63-62 loss to No. 2 Kansas in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Championship last Thursday. OSU has recorded at least 17 wins for the 23rd consecutive season.
The Cowboys are led by senior forward Marshall Moses -- an All-District VI and All-Big 12 Third Team selection -- who is averaging 14.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game this year. Junior guard Keiton Page is chipping in 13.5 points per contest with 56 three pointers this season. Sophomore wing Jéan-Paul Olukemi -- a member of the Big 12 All-Rookie Team -- is averaging 11.5 points per game and has taken 188 free throws this season.
As a team, OSU is shooting 43.4 percent from the floor but just 29.7 percent from beyond the three-point arc. The Cowboys are outrebounding their opponents by an average of 1.9 boards per contest and are allowing their opponents just 32.9 rebounds per game.
About Harvard
Harvard is 23-6 overall this season and finished 12-2 in Ivy League play, tying for first place in the conference. The Crimson lost a playoff game to Princeton and missed out on the NCAA Tournament. Harvard ranks 35th nationally in the ratings percentage index, the highest rating by any team in the NIT field.
The Crimson are led by Ivy League Player of the Year Keith Wright who is averaging 14.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Five different players are averaging double figures and a sixth is averaging 9.6 points per contest.
As a team, Harvard is shooting 47.7 percent from the floor, including 37.8 percent from beyond the three-point arc. The Crimson rank second nationally in free-throw percentage at 81.1 percent.
