Oklahoma State concludes its brutal three-game stretch by traveling to Lawrence, Kan., to take on last week's No. 1 team, the Kansas Jayhawks, on ESPN's Big Monday. Tipoff for Monday night is set for 8 pm. The game will be televised by ESPN with Brent Musberger handling the play-by-play duties and Bob Knight providing expert analysis and Holly Rowe serving as the sideline reporter. OSU defeated Kansas in the last meeting, an 85-77 victory over the No. 1 Jayhawks in Stillwater last season. KU still leads the series by a 102-53 margin.
About Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State is 16-10 overall this season and 4-8 in Big 12 Conference action following the Cowboys' heartbreaking 67-66 loss to Texas A&M on Saturday night. OSU is currently in a tie with Oklahoma and Texas Tech for ninth place in the Big 12 standings, two games out of fifth place.
The Cowboys are led by senior forward Marshall Moses who is averaging 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, although he missed most of the A&M game with flu-like symptoms. Junior guard Keiton Page is chipping in 13.8 points per contest, while sophomore wing Jéan-Paul Olukemi is averaging 11.6 points per game.
As a team, OSU is shooting 43.4 percent from the floor but just 29.8 percent from beyond the three-point arc. The Cowboys are outrebounding their opponents by an average of 2.7 boards per contest and are allowing their opponents just 32.5 rebounds per game.
About Kansas
Kansas is 25-2 overall this season and 10-2 in Big 12 Conference play, sitting in second place in the league. The Jayhawks were ranked No. 1 in last week's national polls, but will likely drop due to an 84-68 loss at Kansas State last week. The 'Hawks are led by twins Marcus and Markieff Morris, both junior forwards. Marcus is averaging 16.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, while Markieff is scoring 13.3 points per game and grabbing 8.4 boards per contest. Four other KU players are averaing 8.8 points per game or better, including freshman Josh Selby, who has started 11 games this season and is averaging 10.9 ppg. As a team, KU is shooting 52.1 percent from the floor, including 39 percent from long range. The Jayhawks are outscoring their opponents by an average of 18.8 points per game and have a +7.2 rebounding margin.
