Stillwater, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team, coming off a 72-67 victory at Missouri State on Wednesday, travels to New York City this weekend for a battle with the 15th-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers inside Madison Square Garden. Tipoff for Saturday's matchup is scheduled for 1:30 pm CT and the game will be televised by ESPN2.
The Cowboys are 6-2 this season following Wednesday night's victory and are looking for their first win in three tries inside the historic arena. OSU lost a pair of games in New York two weeks ago in the semifinals and consolation finals of the NIT Season Tip-Off.
The Panthers hold the all-time series edge against Oklahoma State by a 5-4 margin. Pitt defeated the Cowboys in the last meeting, an 84-76 decision over OSU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2009. The Pokes won the only meeting between these two teams in NYC, a 74-63 victory in the semifinals of the 1991 Preseason NIT.
Oklahoma State is led by freshman Le'Bryan Nash who is averaging 12.6 points per game. The Cowboy rookie scored a team-high 19 points off the bench against Missouri State and also grabbed eight rebounds. Pittsburgh is led by senior guard Ashton Gibbs who is averaging 18.9 points per contest.
