Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team, fresh off an exciting 68-58 double-overtime win against SMU in Dallas on Wednesday night, will host the Virginia Tech Hokies on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 11 am, inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. ADMISSION IS FREE!
The Cowboys and Virginia Tech have already played once this season in the consolation finals of the NIT Season Tip-Off in New York. The Hokies picked up a narrow 59-57 victory over OSU, despite career highs by Markel Brown in points (19) and rebounds (10).
Virginia Tech is 10-3 on the season, with losses to top-ranked Syracuse (69-58), at Minnesota (58-55) and against Big 12 opponent Kansas State (69-61).
Oklahoma State looks to extend its current homecourt winning streak over non-conference opponents to 38 straight games with a victory over VT. It is the third-longest such streak in school history.
The game will also mark the first time since the 1993-94 season that the Cowboys have played a non-conference foe twice in the same season. OSU and the Hokies will play four games against each other in three seasons, including last year's matchup in the 76 Classic in Anaheim, Calif., and next year's game that will be played in Blacksburg, Va.
