Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team makes the short trip down I-35 to face New Mexico in the 2011 RAMADA All-College Classic Saturday evening inside Chesapeake Energy Arena. Tipoff for the game is slated for 9:30 pm.
The Cowboys are 6-3 this season and coming off an 74-68 loss to No. 15 Pittsburgh last Saturday in New York City. The Lobos are 7-2 and coming off a 44-41 win over USC in Los Angeles last Saturday. UNM is 2-1 all-time against OSU, although the Pokes won the last meeting, a 67-54 victory over New Mexico in the first round of the 1991 NCAA Tournament.
Freshman Le'Bryan Nash leads the squad with his 13.4 points per game coming off the bench the last five contests. Senior guard Keiton Page is averaging 12 points for the Cowboys, while sophomore Markel Brown is averaging 10.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He has also dished out a team-high 18 assists and has a team-leading 19 steals.
Oklahoma State is 8-2 in the All-College since it was reformatted as a "classic" in 2001. The Cowboys have an all-time record of 71-17 in the All-College, including 13 All-College Tournament titles from 1936 until 1989, the last year the Pokes competed in the tournament format. That trails only Oklahoma's 17 tournament championships, 12 of which the Sooners won from 1987-2000.
