Stillwater, Okla. — Oklahoma State University will host its annual Homecoming & Hoops on Friday, Oct. 28, at 9 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena, officially kicking off the 2011-12 basketball season. The event is a joint venture by both the OSU Athletics Department and the Homecoming Student Steering Committee and is sponsored by Homeland. Admission is free.
Both the men's and women's basketball teams will be introduced during the event, including several newcomers. The Cowboy squad features six new players while five newcomers dot the Cowgirl roster.
Along with intrasquad scrimmages for both teams, there will also be group performances and a dunking exhibition.
The Cowboy Basketball team will play its first exhibition game on Wed., Nov. 2, as OSU hosts Panhandle State at 7 p.m. Oklahoma State's first regular-season game will be Fri., Nov. 11 vs. Texas A&M–Corpus Christi at 7 p.m.
OSU's women's team will host Fort Hays State on Wed., Nov. 9, in an exhibition starting at 7 p.m. The Cowgirls open the regular season on Sun., Nov. 13, against Rice at 2 p.m.
