No. 25 Cowgirls To Face K-State
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (12-1) will open conference play on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. when they travel to Manhattan, Kan., to face Kansas State (10-3). The 25th-ranked Cowgirls are riding a four-game winning streak after knocking off Vermont, 79-33, on Tuesday in Stillwater. The Wildcats enter conference play having won two in a row after defeating Vermont, 68-39, on Dec. 30. The contest will be televised by Fox Sports Net with Brent Stover (PxP) and Brenda VanLengen (color) serving as the talent.
OSU—K-State ... The Series
The series between the two schools is knotted at 27-27 ... OSU won last year's contest, 66-56, in Stillwater to pull even with the Wildcats ... K-State has won 13 of the 21 games played in Manhattan.
Scouting Kansas State
K-State has not played since its 68-39 win over Vermont on Dec. 30. The Wildcats are 7-0 at home this season with their last win in Manhattan coming on Dec. 12 against UC Davis. Brittany Chambers leads a trio of players scoring in double figures at 15.3 points per game.She is tied with OSU's Toni Young for 13th on the Big 12's list of scoring leaders.She also ranks fourth in the league with her 2.7 3-pointers per game. Branshea Brown is the squad's leader at 6.0 boards per game. Mariah White ranks ninth in the Big 12 with her 4.4 assists per game.
