Cowgirls Continue Play at Sooner Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team continued play at the Sooner Fall Invitational Saturday, as the Cowgirls went 10-8 in a full day of singles competition at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
Oklahoma State athletes competed for more than 10 hours in each of the four singles brackets at the event, with the final matches of each bracket set for Sunday.
Today's 10 singles wins combined with yesterday's 6-3 record in singles play gives the Cowgirls 16 tournament singles wins so far.
Each of OSU's athletes competed in two matches, with the highlights coming from senior Sasha Belova and sophomore Leyla Simmons, who both went 2-0 after falling Friday in the first rounds of the A and D brackets, respectively.
In addition to Belova and Simmons, Cowgirls Nataliya Shatkovskaya, Sarah Meghoufel, C.C. Sardinha, Kanyapat Narattana and Malika Rose added wins to their fall records.
The Cowgirls wrap up play in the Sooner Fall Invitational Sunday in Norman on the final day of the event.
