Nedovyesov Earns NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship

STILLWATER – Former Oklahoma State tennis star Oleksandr Nedovyesov received further recognition for his outstanding academic and athletic performance this week as he was named a recipient of a 2010 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for the spring sports season.
This award comes after Nedovyesov has already been named to this year's All-Big 12 team, All-Big 12 Academic team, ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Men's At-Large Team and ITA All-American team, among others.
Nedovyesov wrapped up his collegiate career as the most decorated athlete in the history of the Oklahoma State tennis program. The Alushta, Ukraine, native finished with a 105-23 career record in singles competition. He was a two-time Big 12 Player of the Year, the 2009 ITA National Player of the Year and the 2009 ITA National Player to Watch, among many other honors. He also received several other academic awards, including the 2009-10 OSU Student Athlete of the Year.
The NCAA awards up to 29 postgraduate scholarships for men and 29 scholarships for women, each a one-time grant of $7,500, for fall sports, winter sports and spring sports, and up to 174 annually. Scholarships are given to student-athletes based on their performance both in the classroom and athletically.
