The Basics
The Oklahoma State men's and women's track and field squads send their best athletes to the NCAA Championships final rounds at legendary Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., on June 10th and 12th.
On The Air
The Championships will be broadcast live on Friday from 7-9 p.m. (CST) on CBS College Sports.
Saturday's action will be broadcast live on CBS from 12-2 p.m. (CST).

The Format
For the purpose of the NCAA final rounds, the 1,500 meters will be competed in a semifinal and final format.
The top five placers from the two 1,500 meter heats along with the next two-fastest times will advance from the semifinal to final.
In the 10,000 meters, a 24-man race will be the only one contested in Eugene.
For the triple jump, trials and finals will determine the champion.
In each of the events, the top-eight finishers will earn All-America honors.

The 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships return to historic Hayward Field for the 10th time and first since 1996. Hayward Field, named for the first coach in Oregon's rich track history, has hosted the NCAA Championships more than any other venue.
It has also played host to the U.S. Olympic Trials on four occasions.

Last Time Out: NCAA West Opening Rounds
John Kosgei qualified first in the 10,000 meters with a 29:36.55. The top 12 finishers in the 10,000 meters advanced to the NCAA Championships final round.
Mihaela Susa coasted into the NCAA Championships final round with a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 meter quarterfinals in 4:16.60.
In order to qualify for the final round, Clarissa Andrews used a school-record leap of 13.06 meters in the triple jump.
Kosgei The Big 12's Best
With his two titles at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, John Kosgei was named the Big 12 Outstanding Performer of the Year on May 19 by a vote of the league's coaches.
Kosgei won the 10,000 meter title Thursday of the Big 12 Championships in a time of 29:24.21. He came back Sunday of the meet to win the 5,000 meters in 14:05.96.
The Eldoret, Kenya, native missed the 2009 Big 12 Championships with an injury.
Oklahoma State has claimed the Big 12 Outstanding Performer of the Year each of the past two seasons. German Fernandez was awarded the honor a year ago.

NCAA Championships Experience
None of OSU's entrants in the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships have previous experience at the outdoor championships.
At the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships, Mihaela Susa placed fifth in the indoor mile.
John Kosgei missed the opportunity to qualify for last year's outdoor championships after suffering a leg injury midway through the outdoor season.
