Cowboy Tennis Falls To Huskers

LINCOLN, Neb. - The No. 49 Oklahoma State men's tennis team won two doubles and two singles matches, but fell to No. 37 Nebraska, 4-3, Saturday at the Nebraska Tennis Center.
The Cowboys, now 7-9 (0-3) on the year, started the day with a pair of wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles to go up, 1-0.
Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Aleksey Bessonov, the 16th-ranked doubles team, defeated Nebraska's Andre Stenger and Chris Aumueller, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles in the first match completed, followed by a win from Maxi Kuhn and Ilija Martinoski at the No. 3 spot.
In singles play, Nedovyesov improved his record at No. 1 to 13-3 (2-1), with a win over Nebraska's No. 96 Aumueller, who retired early with an injury.
Aleksey Bessonov also scored for the Cowboys with a three set win over David Bendheim at the No. 3 spot, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4.
The Cowboys scored three team points in the match, but were unable to get the fourth point needed for the win as they dropped matches at the No. 2, 4, 5 and 6 matches to give the Huskers the win, 4-3.
OSU returns to action for a Bedlam matchup April 7, facing Oklahoma at the DeBois Tennis Complex in Stillwater at 2 p.m.
