Cowgirls Add One During Spring Period

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has signed Carissa Crutchfield to a National Letter of Intent it was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Kurt Budke.
"We are excited to have Carissa join our program," Budke said. "She is a talented player who comes from a good high school program with a good head coach. Because of that, I think she will make the transition to the Division I level that much easier."
The 5-6 guard averaged 16 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals per game as a senior at Fort Gibson while earning all-state honors from the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association.
During her final season, Crutchfield guided Fort Gibson to a 24-3 mark and a berth in the Class 4A state tournament quarterfinals.
Her junior season, she averaged 12.5 points, nine rebounds, 2.5 steals and 4.5 assists per game while directing Fort Gibson to the semifinal round of the state tournament.
Overall, Crutchfield led Fort Gibson to four state tournament berths, including trips to the title game in 2007 and 2008.
