OSU Heads North For Big 12 Tourney
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (21-9, 9-7) will begin its postseason on Thursday at 5 p.m. against Kansas (15-14, 5-11) in the first round of the Big 12 Championship at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. The Cowgirls enter play as the No. 7 seed, while the Jayhawks are the No. 10 seed. The winner will move on to face No. 2 seed Iowa State at 5 p.m. on Friday. OSU saw its three-game winning streak come to an end with Sunday's loss at Oklahoma, while the Jayhawks have lost five in a row after their loss to Texas A&M on Saturday.

Thursday's contest will be Andrea Riley's 128th career game, moving her past Shaunte' Smith into first place on the school's all-time list ... Riley enters the week eight points shy of 2,700 for her career and 37 points shy of catching Oklahoma's Courtney Paris, who finished with 2,729 points, as the league's all-time leading scorer ... Riley also has 766 points on the year, which is 41 shy of tying the Big 12 single-season mark she set two years ago ... Riley has 689 career assists, which is six shy of tying Liz Brown for the top spot in school history.
OSU At The Big 12 Championship
The Cowgirls enter play as the No. 7 seed for the first time in Big 12 history. OSU is 6-6 overall in first-round games and has won its last two. The Cowgirls last lost in the first round in 2007 to Kansas. OSU's last trip to Kansas City saw the Cowgirls reach their first Big 12 title game in 2008 before falling to Texas A&M. OSU is 9-13 all time in the Big 12 Championship and 7-8 in tourney games played in Kansas City. OSU is also 5-6 overall in the tournament against teams from the North Division.
Cowgirls and Jayhawks ... The Series
The Jayhawks lead the all-time series 29-23 after OSU's 70-68 win earlier this year in Lawrence. The two teams have met four times in the Big 12 Championship and nine times overall in conference tournament play dating back to the Big Eight Conference. KU is 3-1 all-time against OSU in Big 12 tourney play with OSU's last win coming in the most recent meeting two years ago in Kansas City. OSU won three of the five matchups in the Big Eight event.
