Quick Notes
James Anderson ranks third nationally in scoring at 22.6 points per game ... Anderson needs three points to move past Byron Houston and into second place on the all-time single-season scoring list in OSU history ... with 255 rebounds this season, Marshall Moses ranks 20th in school history for boards in a single season; he needs just five to move into 17th place ... Oklahoma State ranks 15th nationally in three-pointers made per game, due in large part to three Cowboys individual rankings: Obi Muonelo (78th), Anderson (102nd) and Keiton Page (126th) ... Oklahoma State is 6-6 this season against teams competing in the NCAA Tournament, including wins over No. 1 seed Kansas, No. 2 seed Kansas State, No. 3 seed Baylor and No. 5 seed Texas A&M.
Oklahoma State in the NCAA Tournament
Oklahoma State is making its 24th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. That total ranks 26th among all NCAA Tournament appearances nationally. The Cowboys have 38 NCAA Tournament wins, the 18th-most victories by any team nationally. Oklahoma State returns to the NCAA for the second-straight season after a three-year hiatus. Since the seeding process began in 1979, Oklahoma State's highest seed was a No. 2 on three occasions -- 1992, 2004 and 2005. The Cowboys' lowest seeding was a No. 11 in 2001. Since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985, Oklahoma State is 12-2 in first-round contests. The Pokes are 6-6 in second-round games. Oklahoma State has played just four teams more than once in the NCAA Tournament. The Cowboys are 2-0 against Arkansas, 1-1 vs. Syracuse and Pittsburgh, and 0-2 against Kansas State. Georgia Tech will join that small group this year. OSU is 0-1 vs. the Yellowjackets, having lost in the 2004 national semifinals.

The previous meeting was in the finals of Preseason NIT in 1993 when the Cowboys handed the Yellowjackets a 78-71 defeat in Madison Square Garden in New York. The first meeting took place in December of 1981 when Oklahoma State defeated Georgia Tech 59-57 in the Sun Bowl Classic in El Paso, Texas.

But, it was the inside play of Luke Schenscher that ended the Cowboys dream season. The Aussie center recorded 19 points and 12 rebounds. John Lucas hit a trey to tie the game with 26 seconds remaining, but a Will Bynum layup with 1.5 seconds left gave Tech the 67-65 victory.
