Game Information
Oklahoma State will travel to Philadelphia, Pa., this weekend to face the La Salle Explorers on Saturday, Dec. 4, at noon CT (1 pm ET) at the Palestra. The game is a return trip after playing the Explorers last season in the All-College Classic in Oklahoma City. This will be the third meeting between these two teams on the hardwood, with OSU holding a 2-0 advantage. This will mark OSU's 12 game played in Philadelphia, but the first for a Cowboy squad at the Palestra. The previous 11 games were all played at Convention Hall (1 vs La Salle, 5 vs Saint Joseph's, 5 vs Temple). OSU is 8-3 in those games.
About Oklahoma State
Oklahoma State is 6-1 this season and is coming off a 69-57 win over Central Arkansas on Wednesday night in Stillwater. The 6-1 start matches last season's beginning of the season as the best in the last four years.
The Pokes have a +10.1 scoring margin this season and have held their last six opponents to less than 59 points. Excluding the season opener, OSU's opponents are averaging just 55.3 points per contest. Much of the success can be attributed to the Cowboys' dominance on the boards. Oklahoma State is outrebounding its foes by an average of 11.4 boards per contest while limiting the opponents to just 29 rebounds per game.
Senior forward Marshall Moses is leading the team in scoring, averaging 16 points per game. He is shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor. Junior guard Keiton Page is chipping in 14 points per contest while shooting 88.6 percent from the free-throw line. Four different players have blocked at least four shots in seven games this season — Moses (7), Darrell Williams (6), Matt Pilgrim (6) and Jarred Shaw (4), and eight players have at least four steals.
About La Salle
La Salle is 5-2 this season with both losses coming against Big 12 opponents. The Explorers defeated Columbia (82-71), Prairie View A&M (88-74), Morgan State (79-74), Providence (84-73) and Delaware State (65-61). Their two losses are at Baylor (74-64) and vs. Missouri in the finals of the Cancun Challenge (83-71). La Salle is led by sophomore center Aaric Murray who is averaging 16.3 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots per game. The Explorers are shooting 50 percent from the floor, including 38 percent from beyond the arc. However, they also have a -3.3 turnover margin per game and are shooting just 63 percent from the charity stripe.
Up Next
After traveling more than 4,800 miles in 11 days (1,188 miles each way to Anaheim and 1,216 each way to Philadelphia), Oklahoma State returns home and will head just 70 miles along the Cimarron Turnpike to play the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Wed., Dec. 8, at 8 pm in the BOK Center in Tulsa. That game will be televised by CBS College Sports.
