Stillwater, Okla. -- Coming off an 86-66 win over the Oklahoma City Stars on Monday night, Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team will play its final exhibition game before the regular season starts as OSU hosts the Campbellsville (Ky.) Tigers on Friday, Nov. 5, at 7 pm inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Tigers are ranked No. 17 in the preseason NAIA poll.
It will be a homecoming of sorts for Cowboy head coach Travis Ford, who started his coaching career at Campbellsville and led the Tigers for three seasons (1997-2000). During that time, he compiled a 67-31 record and took Campbellsville to the NAIA National Tournament. Keith Adkins, the current head coach at Campbellsville, was an assistant for Ford when he was with the Tigers.
Keiton Page led the Cowboys in their first exhibition with 21 points while junior-college transfer Darrell Williams paced OSU with 15 points, 15 rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Jarred Shaw had 14 points off the bench for the Cowboys.
Oklahoma State will officially open the 2010-11 season on Saturday, Nov. 13, when the Cowboys host Houston Baptist in the season opener. Tipoff will be announced as early as Sunday.
