OSU Set To Host Centenary
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (2-0) will continue its season-opening four-game homestand on Saturday at 2 p.m. when Centenary (0-1) comes calling. The Cowgirls are coming off an 84-40 win over Grambling State on Thursday, while the Ladies will look to rebound from a season-opening loss at Sam Houston State.
Saturday's tilt will continue OSU's string of three games in five days, which will conclude with Monday night's contest against UT Arlington.
OSU-Centenary ... The Series
The two programs have met on one previous occasion. Centenary came to Stillwater on Jan. 6, 2009. OSU won that matchup 100-57. In that contest, OSU's Andrea Riley scored 31 points in 32 minutes.
Scouting Centenary
Centenary comes to Stillwater looking for its initial win under first-year head coach Kristen Davis. The Ladies opened their season on Wednesday night with am 83-55 loss at Sam Houston State. In that contest, Ne-Ne Cook led all scorers with 18 points, while Tulsa, Okla., native Anne Farrell pulled a game-high 17 rebounds to go with 12 points. Ashley Jackson also logged a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Centenary is in its final season in The Summit League and will transition to NCAA Division III next season.
What 2 Watch 4
The Cowgirls have won 44-straight non-conference games at home... OSU's last non-conference home loss came in double overtime against Tulsa on Dec. 3, 2005 ... Toni Young has recorded double-doubles in each of the squad's first two games.
