OSU Opens Slate With Texas Southern
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team will get the 2010-11 campaign underway on Saturday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Texas Southern inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. The Cowgirls are coming off a 109-46 exhibition win over East Central on Tuesday night.
OSU in Season Openers
The Cowgirls are 3-2 in season openers under head coach Kurt Budke after knocking off UALR last year to tip off the season. Overall, OSU is 26-11 in season openers.
OSU-Texas Southern ... The Series
OSU has hosted Texas Southern on three occasions with the Cowgirls prevailing in all three meetings. OSU won the last meeting, 85-39, on Dec. 29, 2007.
Scouting Texas Southern
Saturday's contest will be the season opener for Texas Southern, which finished 13-18 overall last year in its second season under head coach Yolanda Wells-Broughton. The Tigers also finished 9-9 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference to finish fifth in the league standings. TSU was picked to once again finish fifth in the SWAC's preseason poll. The Cowgirls will be one of four NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago on the Tigers' slate and are joined by Baylor, LSU and Southern. TSU knocked off Paul Quinn College, 81-58, in its lone exhibition.

The Cowgirls have won 42-straight non-conference games at home... OSU's last non-conference home loss came in double overtime against Tulsa on Dec. 3, 2005 ... OSU went 9-0 at home last season in non-league games, marking its fourth-straight unbeaten campaign at home out of conference.
