Stillwater, Okla. -- Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team opens the exhibition portion of the 2010-11 schedule on Monday night as OSU hosts the Oklahoma City Stars at 7 pm inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Oklahoma State was 22-11 a year ago and made it's second-consecutive NCAA appearance under third-year head coach Travis Ford. The Cowboys return nine players and three starters from a year ago and have added five newcomers to the roster, two junior-college transfers and three freshmen.
It will mark the 22nd all-time meeting between these two schools, including the second exhibition contest. OSU is officially 14-6 all-time against the Stars in a series that began the basketball program at Oklahoma State in 1908. The last regular-season meeting between these two teams occurred in 1982, but they played an exhibition contest in 2005 with the Cowboys coming away with the 107-64 victory.
Oklahoma State will host Campbellsville (Ky.) in another exhibition contest on Friday, Nov. 5, at 7 pm before opening the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 13, with a home game against Houston Baptist. Tipoff for that game will be announced tomorrow following the announcement of the kickoff time for OSU's football game at Texas.
