Cowgirl Netters Reach Final at USAFA Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Leyla Simmons and Allison Burkhartt advanced to doubles final Saturday at the Air Force Invitational, as Oklahoma State's women's tennis team completed its second day of play at the event.
The Cowgirl tandem, who also won the quarterfinal match of the No. 2 doubles bracket Friday, knocked off Iowa State's Erin Karonis and Simona Cacciuttolo, 8-3, to earn a spot in Sunday's final.
The pair also had a good day on the singles courts, as each won a consolation match in their respective singles brackets.
The singles highlight, however, came from junior Alisa Buslaieva, who defeated Arizona's Kim Stubbe, 6-2, 6-1, to earn a spot in the Bravo singles final match Sunday.
Malika Rose also picked up a singles win in the A singles bracket to advance to the consolation final.
The Cowgirls resume play Sunday at the third and final day of the USAFA Invitational.
