Cowgirl Golf Moves Into Second Place

OWASSO, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's golf team carded the low round of the day at the Dale McNamara Invitational on Tuesday to move into second place at The Patriot Golf Club.
The Cowgirls used a 2-over 290 to move from fifth into the No. 2 spot at the par-72, 6,450-yard layout. With 18 holes remaining, OSU stands at 591, 15-over, and eight shots behind Oklahoma.
OU's Ellen Mueller maintained her spot atop the individual leaderboard at 4-under 140.
OSU sophomore Victoria Park moved up one spot into fourth place at 142 after posting her second consecutive 71. The Irvine, Calif., native started her day with back-to-back birdies before carding a bogey and double bogey on Nos. 3 and 4 to move back to 1-over par for the day. Park added her third birdie of the day at the seventh and made the turn with a 1-over 37 total. After a birdie-bogey start to her back nine, Park carded her fifth and sixth birdies of the day at the 14th and 16th to move back under par for her round.
Hillary Wood jumped 19 spots in the individual race after posting a 1-under 71 during her second round. The sophomore finished the day tied for ninth place with a 147 total.
Junior Jocelyn Alford carded the squad's low round of the day with a 3-under 69 to move from a tie for 68th into a tie for 16th at 150.
Freshman Josephine Janson followed an opening 74 with a 79 and finished tied for 26th place with a 153 total.
Fellow freshman Jade Staggs came in tied for 70th with a 165 total after posting an 85.
Competing as an individual, Eyglo Oskarsdottir carded an 85 to finish the day tied for 84th place at 172.
The Cowgirls will look to earn their second-straight team title tomorrow when they begin their final round at 9:20 a.m. (CST). OSU will be grouped with Oklahoma and Tulsa.
