Opening Statement
"I'm pretty pleased tonight. It wasn't perfect by any means. I was a little worried about us coming in tonight and overlooking Sam Houston since Baylor is right around the corner. But I thought the girls for the most part executed pretty well tonight."
On the team's execution
"We've thrown some new things out there that we are trying to work on for Big 12 so we were kind of stumbling with that tonight. We were forgetting the execution on some of the new things. Overall, I thought we played pretty well."
On Sam Houston State
"Sam Houston has scored the basketball on everybody they've played. Their coach does a great job with them and they have some players that can put the ball in the hole. I think it was their second lowest total of the year so we can't feel too bad about that."

On wrapping up non-conference play
"Who would have thought that we would be 12-2 right now because we have such a young team with only four seniors. I think that the leadership role came into play because if we didn't lead when we were on the road playing against teams like a New Mexico in front of so many people and the freshman experiencing that, I think that everybody really held their own in the preseason."
On the two non-conference losses against top 25 opponents
"We learned that we can play against anybody in the country. Ohio State is in the top 10 and Michigan State has beaten a lot of people. We really showed that we can be good in adverse situations but we have to learn how to close out those kinds of games."
On being in the top 25
"It feels good to be back in the top 25 because we want to be a part of a list of the best teams in the nation and we want to show everyone that we can keep that ranking and continue to climb up."
On Big 12 play
"We can't explain the feeling we have in our bodies right now because we've been waiting for Big 12 play to start for so long. We have to just show them what we're made of and see if we can finish out games like we know we can."

"I think these games helped out everyone's confidence a lot. I think we are a lot closer this year than we were last year and we all understand how each other play."
