OSU Closes Out Non-League Play Monday
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (11-2) will close out non-conference play on Monday at 7 p.m. when it hosts Sam Houston State (3-7). The Cowgirls are coming off an 84-31 win over Texas-Pan American on Saturday, while the Bearkats will be looking to rebound from a 106-78 loss at Arkansas on Dec. 29.
Cowgirls and Sam Houston ... The Series
The two teams have met five times previously with OSU taking the last four contests. All five games have taken place in Stillwater. The Bearkats won the first meeting, 60-54 at the 1982 OSU Thanksgiving Classic. OSU won the next three as part of tournament play before winning the most recent meeting, 90-36 on Nov. 17, 2007.
Scouting The Bearkats
Sam Houston State comes to town looking to halt a four-game losing skid after its Dec. 29 loss at Arkansas. Monday's contest will be the fifth-straight road game for the Bearkats. OSU will be the second Big 12 opponent SHSU has faced after losing at Texas Tech, 91-52, on Nov. 14 in its season opener. The Bearkats have a trio of players scoring in double figures led by Ray Alexander's 13.0 points per contest. Whitney Smith is averaging 12.0 points and is the squad's leading rebounder at 7.5 boards per contest.
