Suits & Sneakers Weekend to Benefit Coaches vs. Cancer
You will notice many coaches across the country sporting sneakers with their traditional suits this weekend, including the Oklahoma State staff. Suits and Sneakers is a national Coaches vs. Cancer event that is designed to raise awareness about the fight against cancer and the American Cancer Society by encouraging member coaches and their coaching staffs to wear sneakers with their suits at games held this weekend to show support for the Coaches vs. Cancer program. Oklahoma State's Coaches vs. Cancer campaign ranks in the top 10 nationally and ranks first in the Big 12 Conference for money raised. The committee, along with former OSU head coach Eddie Sutton, have been nationally recognized for their fundraising efforts.
Series vs Missouri
Missouri leads the all-time series with Oklahoma State 74-39, including a 43-7 mark in Columbia. The Cowboys won the last meeting in Columbia, a 75-73 victory in Mizzou Arena. The Tigers have won seven of the last 10 meetings, although since the Big 12 formed in 1996-97, MU's lead is trimmed to 8-7.
Last year, Marshall Moses and Obi Muonelo combined for 44 rebounds in two games against Missouri last season. James Anderson has scored 50 points in three games against Missouri in his career, an average of 16.7 points per game.
Return to Missouri
Coach Travis Ford will return to Columbia for a game for the first time since his playing days as a freshman for the Tigers. Ford was a member of the Mizzou squad which was ranked the No. 1 team in the country for four weeks and in the top-10 for 15 weeks during the 1989-90 season. Ford averaged 6.4 points and 3.5 assists for the Tigers. He was also 60-of-67 from the free-throw line that season, establishing a school record for 10 years.
