Lowe, Farrell Hit Provisional Marks in Arkansas

Fayetteville, Ark. – Oklahoma State's Cowboy track team completed its second competition of the year Saturday at the Razorback Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas.
Sophomore Colby Lowe and freshman Tom Farrell highlighted the day's competition in the 3,000-meter championship. Farrell finished second in 8:02.18 and under the NCAA provisional mark of 8:05.00. Lowe, a Southlake, Texas native, finished just behind Farrell in 8:03.57 to meet the NCAA provisional mark in his first competition of the indoor season.
David Chirchir and Sean Fleming ran for the Cowboys in the mile championship and posted 11th and 16th place finishes, respectively.
The Cowboys opened the day with six runners in the 3,000 meters. Freshmen Michael Lynch and Taylor Monaghan led the Cowboys with a fifth and sixth place finishes, respectively.
OSU followed with two entrants in the mile run. Freshman Klaus Schmidt ran a 4:27.22 mile in his second competition in a Cowboy uniform.
