OSU Track Competes at Wichita State

Wichita, Kan. - The Oklahoma State men's and women's track & field teams completed their first competition of 2010 at the Wichita State Varsity Apartments Invitational on Friday.

Freshman Thomas Farrell turned in the best performance for the Cowboys with a second-place showing in the mile with a time of 4:18.00. The Cowgirls got their best showing from Julie Rader, who placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 15.66 in the finals.

Brandi Andrews also picked up a second-place finish for the Cowgirls with a 2:15.00 time in the 800-meter run. Junior Teran Mixon turned in a third place performance for the Cowgirls in the 1000-meter run, with a time of 3:02.00

The Cowgirls competed in throwing, jumps, sprints and distance, while the Cowboys entered athletes in only distance competition.

The OSU track teams return to action next weekend at the Razorback Invite in Fayetteville, Ark.
