Oklahoma State's opponent in the All-College Basketball Classic this winter will be the La Salle Explorers of the Atlantic 10 Conference, it was announced today. The game, scheduled for Dec. 21, will tip off at approximately 7:30 p.m. as the second game of the doubleheader and will be televised by ESPN2.
La Salle was 18-13 a year ago and returns its top-seven scorers from last season, including second-team All-Atlantic 10 selection Rodney Green. The 6-foot-5 senior guard averaged 17.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game last season while dishing out 105 assists.
OSU coach Travis Ford is no stranger to the Explorers, as his UMass Minutemen played La Salle on five occasions and compiled a 3-2 mark. It is the second-straight year that Oklahoma State has played a member of the A-10 Conference at the All-College, having defeated Rhode Island 86-82 at the Ford Center last December.
The Cowboys are 6-2 at the All-College since returning to the event during the 2001-02 season, including wins over Ball State, BYU, SMU, Tennessee, Pittsburgh and URI. OSU's two losses have come to Gonzaga in 2004 and ORU in 2007.
