Cowboy Tennis Resumes Conference Play Against Nebraska

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Oklahoma State men's tennis team will return to Big 12 action Tuesday against Nebraska at the DeBois Tennis Complex in Stillwater at 2 p.m.
The Cowboys (9-5, 0-2 Big 12) are coming off nonconference wins against Louisville and Southern Methodist. They are ranked No. 30 in the Campbell/ITA College Tennis rankings.
The No. 49 Huskers are 16-5, 0-2. They have lost three straight matches after stringing together a 13-match winning streak. Nebraska opened conference play last weekend with 4-3 losses to Baylor and Oklahoma.
Scouting the Huskers
OSU's Oleksandr Nedovyesov, the nation's top-ranked singles player, will likely face David Bendheim. Nedovyesov has won 11 straight matches and regained the top spot in the rankings a week ago. He picked up straight set wins against Louisville and SMU.
Nedovyesov teams with senior Nathan Byrnes at No. 1 doubles for the Cowboys. The duo is ranked No. 16 in doubles. They are riding a seven-match winning streak. Nedovyesov and Byrnes will likely face the No. 59 duo of Bendheim and Calin Paar for Nebraska.
Superb Sophomore
Sophomore Anton Bobytskyi has been a solid performer for the Cowboys this spring. He has compiled an 11-1 record and has won 10 straight matches. It is the first full dual schedule for Bobytskyi, who played in some tournaments in the fall.
No Place Like Home
Tuesday's match will be only the second time the Cowboys will be able to play in the friendly confines of the DeBois Tennis Complex. Their first two conference matches of the season were relocated to Tulsa because of snow.
Singles Showdown in Stillwater This Week
Nedovyesov is set to square off with second-ranked Arnau Brugues of Tulsa on Thursday. Nedovyesov is 3-2 in his career against Brugues.
