Cowgirl Golf Heads To Desert For Ping/ASU Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz.—Oklahoma State's women's golf team will be back in action this weekend when it begins play at the Ping/ASU Invitational at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course.
OSU will be one of 17 teams in action this weekend at the par-72, 6,230-yard layout. The field will play 54 holes over three days with 18 holes being contested each day from Friday through Sunday.
The fifth-ranked Cowgirls are coming off a ninth-place showing at the rain-shortened Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic last weekend in Athens, Ga.
A pair of Cowgirls earned top-20 finishes in the 18-hole event as freshman Caroline Hedwall and senior Amanda Johnson each posted 76s to finish tied for 19th place. Hedwall enters this week's tournament as the top-ranked Cowgirl, checking in at No. 8 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index.
Joining the duo in the lineup will be seniors Pernilla Lindberg and Karin Kinnerud as well as freshman Caroline Masson.
The Cowgirls will tee off at 9:20 a.m. (PST) and will be paired with Texas A&M and UCLA.
