Oleksandr Nedovyesov Takes Over Top Spot in Singles Rankings

STILLWATER, Okla – Cowboy junior Oleksandr Nedovyesov climbed back to No. 1 in the Campbell/ITA Singles rankings that were released March 31.
It is the first time Neovyesov has had the top spot since the preseason rankings were released Sept. 4, 2008.
He edged Tulsa's Arnau Brugues by 3/10 of a point as the two switched positions. Nedovyesov and Brugues will square off April 9 in Stillwater.
Nedovyesov is 11-1 in the spring, having won 10 straight matches. Over the weekend, he knocked off No. 14 Dimitar Kutrovsky of Texas and No. 19 Conor Pollock of Texas A&M. With the effort, he earned his fourth Big 12 player of the week honor.
The OSU No. 1 doubles team of Nedovyesov, an Alushta, Ukraine native, and Nathan Byrnes is ranked No. 16 in the latest rankings. The duo had been ranked No. 19 in the March 31 rankings.
They bested Texas A&M's third-ranked Conor Pollock and Austin Krajicek on Sunday.
