Oleksandr Nedovyesov Named Big 12 Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas ÂOklahoma State's Oleksandr Nedovyesov was named the Big 12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week it was announced today by the league office.
The Cowboy junior was tabbed with the honor after picking up a pair of conference wins last week at the No. 1 singles position.
Nedovyesov defeated No. 19 Dimitar Kutrovsky of Texas, 7-5, 6-4, and No. 16 Conor Pollock of Texas A&M, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6.
The Alushta, Ukraine native also had a successful week in doubles action, teaming with Nathan Byrnes to log a pair of wins. The duo beat Texas' 23rd-ranked Kellen Damico and Ed Corrie in No. 1 doubles (8-6). Two days later, Nedovyesov and Byrnes upset the third-ranked Aggie duo of Conor Pollock and Austin Krajicek, 8-3.
Nedovyesov, who has won nine straight singles matches, is ranked second nationally, while he and Byrnes are 19th in doubles.
