Cowgirl Golf Tied For Fourth Place At Wildcat Invitational

PUERTO PENASCO, Mexico—Oklahoma State's women's golf team posted an 11-over 299 total during its first round at the Wildcat Invitational to stand in a tie for fourth place at the Nicklaus Legacy Course.
OSU ended the day tied with Tulane and three shots out of third place. UCLA grabbed the team lead with a 1-under 287 total, finishing as the only team under par at the par-72, 6,146-yard layout.
Arizona State stands in second place at 295 and the Sun Devils' Juliana Murcia carded a 67 to take a two-shot advantage in the individual race.
A pair of Cowgirls, senior Karin Kinnerud and freshman Caroline Hedwall, are tied for 15th place after posting 2-over 74s.
Finishing one stroke back and in the group tied for 22nd was senior Pernillla Lindberg, who was one of six players to card a 75 on the day.
Senior Amanda Johnson carded a 76 to stand in a tie for 28th, while freshman Caroline Masson turned in a 78 and is tied for 45th place.
OSU will begin its second round tomorrow morning at 8:45 a.m. and will be paired with Duke and Tulane.
