OSU Begins New Year With UTPA
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (10-2) will ring in the new year on Jan. 2 with an 11 a.m. tip against Texas-Pan American (2-11) in Stillwater. The Cowgirls have won six-straight contests after knocking off Western Illinois, 68-55, on Dec. 29. The Lady Broncs lost their last outing, 100-46, at Baylor on Dec. 30 in Waco.
Cowgirls and UTPA ... The Series
Oklahoma State has won all three meetings against the Lady Broncs. This year's game will mark the second-straight year the two have met. OSU hosted UTPA last year on Jan. 3 and came away with an 85-36 victory. The Lady Broncs also came to Stillwater in 2004, a 62-48 OSU win. The first meeting in the series took place in 1991 in Kansas City and produced a 73-52 Cowgirl win.
Scouting The Lady Broncs
Texas-Pan American comes to town looking to snap a two-game losing skid after its 100-46 loss at Baylor on Dec. 30. The Lady Broncs opened the year with an eight-game losing streak before winning two of their next three games. UTPA is 0-6 this season in true road games. Two of those losses have come against Big 12 teams. In addition to Baylor, the Lady Broncs lost at Missouri, 83-34, on Dec. 10. Freshman Bianca Torre is the lone player scoring in double figures at 12.2 points per game. She also leads the team with 3.7 assists per game.

The Cowgirls have won 40-straight non-conference games at home ... Andrea Riley enters the contest with 2,214 career points which is 27 points shy of catching Kansas State's Nicole Ohlde for fourth on the Big 12's all-time scoring list ... Riley had her 100th career double-figure scoring game with 22 points against Western Illinois ... Riley enters the contest No. 2 nationally in consecutive double-figure scoring games ... Ohio State's Jantel Lavender leads the nation at 81 consecutive games, while Riley has scored at least 10 points in 70-straight games ... Riley enters play with 261 career steals, which is four shy of Oklahoma's Dionnah Jackson for 10th on the league's all-time list ... she also has 580 career assists and is nine shy of catching Iowa State's Lindsey Wilson and Megan Mahoney for ninth on the league's all-time list.
