Moses' Double-Double Propels Cowboys

Stillwater, Okla. -- Marshall Moses scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season, and Oklahoma State pulled away from a pesky Arkansas-Pine Bluff team as the Cowboys won Sunday afternoon 81-66 inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Moses was 10-of-11 from the field, a feat that had not been accomplished by a Cowboy Basketball player in nearly 14 years. It was the first time an OSU player had shot 90 percent or better from the floor with at least 10 makes since Feb. 5, 1996, when Jerome Lambert went 11-of-12 at Oklahoma. It was only the ninth time in school history that anyone had shot that well with at least 10 made shots.
Meanwhile, other Cowboys were contributing in other ways. While James Anderson wasn't quite full speed, suffering from sinus issues, blocked a career-best five shots on the defensive end. He still scored 16 points, including eight at the charity stripe, and also dished out four assists. Freshman Ray Penn, coming off the bench for just the second time this season, responded with 11 points, five assists and just one turnover in 30 minutes.
Oklahoma State struggled early and led by just one point at 32-31 with three minutes remaining before halftime. A three-pointer by Anderson and back-to-back treys by Keiton Page put the Pokes up 10, but a pair of baskets by the Lions cut the lead to just six heading into the locker room.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff trimmed the deficit to three on a layup by Lebaron Weathers 3-1/2 minutes into the second period, but OSU went on an 11-0 run over a 2-1/2 minute span and extended the lead to 14, and it never again dropped into single digits.
Oklahoma State (8-1) will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 16, as the Cowboys travel to Palo Alto, Calif., to take on the Stanford Cardinal in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series. Tipoff is set for 10 p.m. CT and the game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.
