Vermont will be the fifth opponent of OSU's first eight that played in the NCAA Tournament a year ago. The Catamounts went 21-12 and lost in the first round to eventual national champion Connecticut. Vermont is 2-0 at home this season with wins over Dartmouth and Manhattan. Vermont opened the season with a pair of wins at the Wolfpack Invitational, including a win over host N.C. State. The squad's lone loss came on Dec. 3 at No. 1 Connecticut. Vermont edged Hartford as the favorite to win the America East Conference. Courtnay Pilypaitis is the only player in AEC history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists. She and May Kotsopoulos were preseason all-league picks.
