Las Vegas, Nev. -- James Anderson scored 26 points, including 13-of-14 from the free-throw line, and Oklahoma State dominated Utah from start to finish as the Cowboys won the championship game of the HoopTV Las Vegas Invitational here Saturday night with a 77-55 victory over Utah.
Anderson was seemingly unstoppable, garnering tournament Most Valuable Player honors 22.5 points in the two games. He also had five rebounds and three assists against the Runnin' Utes.
Senior Obi Muonelo and freshman Ray Penn were also named to the all-tournament team. Muonelo scored 17 points against Utah, connecting on all five shots from the floor, including two from beyond the arc. Ray Penn had just five points and four rebounds, but was instrumental in running the Cowboy offense.
Oklahoma State trailed by five early, but went on a 17-0 run to take a 19-7 lead and never looked back. The Pokes were up 44-26 at intermission and outscored the Utes 33-29 in the second period.
The Cowboys committed just six turnovers in the game, including just one in the first half. OSU also shot 55.2 percent in the first period, including 5-of-10 from long range.
Oklahoma State (6-0) will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 2, as the Cowboys travel to Tulsa, Okla., to face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at the Reynolds Center.
