STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State men's tennis athletes Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Anton Bobytskyi were named ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2008-09 academic year, the ITA announced.
To earn the ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, a player must be a varsity letter winner, maintain a 3.5 grade point average for the academic year and be enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
In addition to Nedovyesov's honors in the classroom, he is also widely recognized for his play on the court. Nedovyeov was named the ITA National Player of the Year for the 2008-09 season and entered 2009 fall play as the No. 1-ranked player in the country.
Bobytskyi has received recognition for his play as well, for he and Nedovyesov enter the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships this week seeded in the top 10.
It is both of the athletes' first time to receive the honor.
