OSU Travels To Lubbock For Weekend Tilt
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (13-5 overall, 2-3 Big 12) will look to win its second consecutive road game on Saturday when it heads to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech (12-7, 3-3) at 1 p.m. inside United Spirit Arena. In its last outing, OSU defeated Missouri, 68-60, in Columbia on Wednesday, while the Lady Raiders are coming off a 66-60 win at Colorado.
OSU vs. Tech ... The Series
For the first time since the formation of the Big 12, OSU swept the season series last year, claiming a 58-56 win in Lubbock before posting a 73-54 win in Stillwater on Senior Night. The Lady Raiders had won the previous seven meetings in the series. Overall, Tech leads the series 25-14 and has won 12 of the 16 meetings in Lubbock.
Scouting Tech
Like OSU, Tech stopped a two-game losing streak with a road win during the midweek with its 68-60 victory at Colorado. The Lady Raiders are 10-2 at home on the year overall and 1-2 in conference play with back-to-back losses against Kansas State and Baylor. Dominic Seals ranks among the league leaders in scoring (13.9 ppg, 10th), rebounding (7.8 rpg, 6th), blocks (1.5 bpg, 7th) and field goal percentage (.444, 8th). Maria Moore ranks sixth in the Big 12 in assists at 3.7 per game, while Kiera Mallard is eighth in rebounding at 7.6 boards per game.
What 2 Watch 4
Shaunte' Smith is seven rebounds shy of 800 for her career, which would make her just the third player in school history to score 1,000 points and grab 800 boards ... OSU has never won road games in consecutive years in Lubbock ... Andrea Riley was named one of the top 20 midseason candidates for the John R. Wooden Award yesterday ... Riley has produced 30-point outings in three of her last five games.
