Cowgirl Golf Ties For 19th Place At NCAA Championship

The Cowgirls finished with a 72-hole total of 1,228, 76-over, to come in tied with Tulsa for 19th place at the par-72, 6,424-yard layout.
Southern California carded a 16-over total of 1,168 to outdistance the field by six strokes and claim the team title. UCLA finished as the runner-up at 1,174, while Duke came in third at 1,180.
Only two players in the field finished below par as Arizona State's Azahara Munoz and UCLA's Tiffany Joh each finished at 1-under 287. Munoz won the playoff against Joh to take home medalist honors.
Junior Amanda Johnson was the top individual performer for the Cowgirls, finishing with a 16-over total of 304. The Tulsa, Okla., native carded a 76 on Friday, giving her the squad's low round of the day.
Senior Tammy Clelland carded an 80 during her final round to finish at 306 and tied for 65th place, while junior Pernilla Lindberg also posted an 80 on Friday for a 307 total, tying her for 68th place.
Junior Karin Kinnerud tied for 89th place with a 312 total after turning in a 79 during her fourth round.
For the third consecutive round, OSU was without the benefit of five players after freshman Jaclyn Sweeney had to withdraw during the second round with an injury. With only four players in competition, the Cowgirls were unable to throw out their high score during the final 54 holes of the event.
