Cowboys Outlast Red Raiders at Home

OSU (13-6) took a 1-0 advantage as its No. 1 and No. 2 doubles team picked up wins. At No. 1, Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Nathan Byrnes won 8-5 over the #4 doubles team in the country  Texas Tech's Christian Rojmar and Bojan Szumanski. At No. 2, Ivan Puchkarov and Dmytro Petrov defeated Tech's Michael Breler and Sinisa Markovic, 8-1. The Cowboys went up 3-1 when Byrnes defeated Ilya Babinciuc in three sets at No. 4 singles. OSU freshman Anton Bobytskyi then clinched the win for the Pokes with a tough-fought 7-6, 7-6, victory over Rojmar at No. 5. Sophomore Oleksandr Neovyesov, ranked #8 in the country, continued his recent tear in Big 12 play as he defeated #43 Szumanski, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1.
