Cowboys Continue Bedlam Dominance with 6-1 Win

“Anytime the wind is blowing like it was today – and OU comes to town – you never know how things are going to turn out,” said Cowboy head coach James Wadley. “I was very proud of the way our guys came out and fought today. Sweeping doubles play was huge and I just thought our guys battled hard all day.”
OSU swept through doubles play to start the match. The 13th-ranked duo of sophomore Oleksandr Nedovyesov and Nathan Byrnes improved to 6-0 in Big 12 play and clinched the conference regular season No. 1 doubles title with an 8-4 win over OU's Andrei Daescu and Federico Joitoiu.
“That was big for us,” said Byrnes. “Going undefeated in the Big 12 is a big accomplishment, especially because there are a number of really good doubles teams in the conference.”
In singles play, No. 5 Nedovyesov won a tough match over No. 25 Daescu. The Alushta,
At No. 3, sophomore Dmytro Petrov defeated OU's Vlad Marinescu, 7-6, 6-1, while junior Nathan Byrnes picked up an impressive 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4. OSU freshman Igor Sobolta won, 7-5, 6-1, at No. 6.
With the win, the Cowboys improved to 14-8 on the season with a 4-2 mark in conference play heading into next week's Big 12 Tournament in
