Cowboys Bounce Back With Win Over Aggies

In doubles play, sophomore Oleksandr Nedovyesov and junior Nathan Byrnes continued to play well as they picked up an 8-5 win over A&M's Austin Krajicek and Wil Spencer. Ivan Puchkarov and Dmytro Petrov lost at No. 2, but Cowboy freshmen Anton Bobytskyi and Igor Sobolta picked up an 8-2 win at No. 3.
In singles play, OSU was once again led by Nedovyesov, who picked up another impressive win at No. 1 singles, defeating #23 Conor Pollock, 6-4, 6-4. Texas A&M picked up wins at singles No. 2 – 4, but Bobytskyi and Sobolta came through with victories at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, to close out the match.
Cowboy head coach James Wadley felt good about the way his team bounced back from a loss to pick up its third straight win over the Aggies.
“Oleksandr continues to play extremely well,” said Wadley. “He beat two of the best guys in the Big 12 this weekend. Our two freshmen came through in a huge way in singles and doubles. We really played well and beat a good team today.”
