Cowgirl Basketball Earns No. 3 Seed In New Orleans Regional

For the second consecutive season, Oklahoma State's women's basketball team earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament it was announced tonight.
The Cowgirls earned an at-large bid with a 25-7 record that included an 11-5 mark in Big 12 play. OSU snared a No. 3 seed in the New Orleans Regional and will open the tournament on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa against 14th-seeded East Tennessee State. The winner will advance to take on the winner between Ohio State and Florida State.
The seed is the highest for the Cowgirls in nine tourney appearances. They earned a No. 10 seed last season in what was the squad's first NCAA appearance since 1996. The Cowgirls last made consecutive appearances in the event in 1995 and 1996.
The Cowgirls and Lady Bucs have never previously met. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. (CST) and the contest will be televised by ESPN2.
