STILLWATER, Okla.ÂOklahoma State sophomore Andrea Riley added to her list of accolades this week after being named a second-team All-American by ESPN.com. Riley was one of five players chosen to the second team by a panel of voters.
Riley, who is averaging 22.8 points, 4.2 assists and 2.7 steals per contest, was the lone sophomore selected to the second team. She was joined by Maryland's Crystal Langhorne and Kristi Toliver, North Carolina's Erlana Larkins and Louisville's Angel McCoughtry.
"Riley led the Big 12 in scoring and led her team this season to heights the program had never been to before in the Big 12: a bye in the conference tournament and now the tourney title game," ESPN.com columnist Mechelle Voepel said of the Dallas, Texas native.
A first-team All-Big 12 selection, Riley was also named a second-team All-American last week by Sports Illustrated and has been named the Big 12 Player of the Year by several media outlets around the league.
Riley has led the Cowgirls to a 25-6 record and their first-ever berth in the Big 12 Championship title game. OSU will square off with Texas A&M on Saturday at 6 p.m. and will be looking to earn its first conference tournament crown since winning back-to-back Big Eight titles in 1990 and 1991.
