Cowgirl Golf Moves Into Top Spot At Wildcat Invitational

Battling extremely windy conditions, the Cowgirls overtook the top spot with their 14-over total after starting the day one shot off the lead. With its 36-hole total of 586, OSU will begin tomorrow's final round at the par-71, 6,238-yard layout with a four-shot advantage over Duke.
Individually, the Cowgirls have four players in the top 15, including a trio among the top 10 on the leaderboard.
Freshman Jaclyn Sweeney continued to impress, carding a 1-over 72 in the difficult conditions to move up seven spots and gain sole possession of second place at 1-over 143. The Andover, Mass., native put together a round that included four birdies to position herself among the leaders.
Duke's Amanda Blumenherst posted a 72 and maintained the lead with her 140 total.
OSU senior Tammy Clelland remained in the top 10 after posting a 76 to stand in a tie for sixth place at 146, while junior Pernilla Lindberg jumped 20 spots into a tie for 10th place at 148 after her second consecutive 74.
Junior Karin Kinnerud came in tied for 15th at 149 after carding a 76, while junior Amanda Johnson finished in a tie for 66th at 161 after recording an 85 during her second round.

The Cowgirls will begin their final round tomorrow at 8 a.m. (MST) and will be paired with Duke, Arizona and Southern California.
